Every paid BimaHaq service is a fixed professional fee, shown before you pay, and it is not refundable once paid — with one exception, set out below, for matters we ourselves cannot deliver. Our free Claim Direction Check exists so that you can decide, before paying, whether a paid service fits your situation; please use it first. This policy sits alongside the service-specific terms and engagement letter for whatever you bought; where a service has its own terms, those apply to that service. Nothing here takes away the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Free services
Our free Claim Direction Check and our free content cost nothing, so there is nothing to refund. The Direction Check is where to find out — in five minutes, before any payment — whether your matter is one a paid service can help with, or one that belongs with a free government channel such as your insurer's grievance officer, Bima Bharosa or the Insurance Ombudsman.
Paid services — not refundable once paid
Our paid services — the Claim Strategy Note, the Claim Strategy Call, both advocate legal-notice tiers (including the Advocate-on-Record tier) and our dispute-resolution packages — are fixed-fee professional services. Once you have paid, the fee is not refunded: not for a change of mind, not if you stop responding or end the engagement yourself, and not because the outcome was not the one you hoped for. No outcome or amount is ever promised; the fee pays for the professional work, not for a result.
This is why we ask every customer to run the free Claim Direction Check first, and why the checkout asks you to confirm four things before you pay: that the matter is your own insurance claim (or one you are authorised to pursue), that you can share the paperwork you have, that you understand no outcome is guaranteed, and that the facts you give us are true.
Matters we cannot properly take — full refund
Every paid BimaHaq service — the Claim Strategy Note, the Claim Strategy Call, both advocate legal-notice tiers (including the Advocate-on-Record tier) and our dispute-resolution packages — is for genuine insurance-claim matters. If, after your payment, our review finds that your matter is one we cannot properly serve — it is not about an insurance policy or claim; the relief you want is something insurance cannot give; the documents needed to review it cannot be obtained; the engagement depends on a guaranteed outcome, which we never promise; the matter appears to rest on facts that are not genuine; or we, or the advocate we would put on it, have a conflict of interest — we will tell you plainly, cancel the engagement, and refund your payment in full. This is a decline by us, so it is a full refund — the no-refund rule above is for work we have taken on, not for work we have turned away.
Where a free government channel is the right place for your matter — your insurer's grievance officer, Bima Bharosa, or the Insurance Ombudsman — we point you to it when we decline. One clarification to avoid confusion: if your insurer has alleged fraud against you, that is not a matter we decline — disputing an insurer's fraud allegation is a genuine claim dispute, and it is often exactly when expert help matters most.
If we cannot start or staff your matter — full refund
The same applies when the failure is ours for any other reason: if the advocate we seated turns out to have a conflict of interest, or if we cannot staff your matter, we cancel and refund your payment in full — at any stage, including after a draft exists, because what you would be left holding is not something you can use.
Dispute-resolution engagements
Our custom Ombudsman and consumer court packages are quoted upfront (from ₹4,999) and confirmed in your engagement letter. The same rule applies: BimaHaq's fee is not refunded if you end the engagement, and is refunded in full if we decline the matter or cannot staff it. Advocate fees on consumer court matters are billed separately and follow the advocate's engagement terms. We charge no success fee and take no percentage of any amount recovered.
Memberships and subscriptions
Insurance Updates is billed for a period (monthly). Rights Club is closed to new memberships and takes no renewal charges. You can cancel a subscription at any time to stop future renewals; the period you have already paid for is not refunded.
Academy courses
Course fees are not refundable once access has been granted, because the course materials are delivered immediately. If we withdraw a course before you have accessed it, we refund you in full.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are made to your original payment method through our payment processor (Razorpay). Once initiated by us, the amount typically reaches you within 5–7 working days, depending on your bank or card issuer. An approved full refund returns the whole amount you paid. GST is not charged (we are not GST-registered) and will apply only if and when we register.
